A wrecked boat in Melbourne, Florida has hospitalized three of the four passengers aboard, and one of those passengers is considered to be in serious condition. The accident happened after the boat was flipped from colliding with a tree, throwing the man in serious condition from the vessel.
Boating accidents can often leave the parties involved with very severe injuries, and sometimes these accidents can be the fault of operator error. It is unknown what caused this crash, but it is possible the operator was intoxicated or that he was distracted while at the helm of the boat.
If the boat driver is found to be at fault in this accident, he could face serious legal consequences. Not only will there be the criminal side to deal with, but some of the passengers could file personal injury suits to compensate for any medical bills accrued due to the operator’s negligence.
One of the few details known about the boating accident is that poor weather complicated the rescue effort, as requests for helicopters to help find the crash scene were not fulfilled.
For people injured in boating accidents, there can be a lot of anger and dismay at the predicament they find themselves in, especially on the legal side. Many struggle to deal with their insurance companies, which attempt to squirm their way out of paying victims even if they have a valid claim. Then there is the actual personal injury litigation itself – action that is not always as straightforward as it seems.
One way to improve your personal injury case is to discuss your incident with an experienced lawyer. In addition to answering any of your questions, proper legal representation can give you the edge needed in the courtroom to earn a fair and just compensation package for any injuries or pain and suffering you have endured as a result of someone else’s reckless actions.
