Labor Day weekend is a time for families in Boca Raton and elsewhere to relax and spend quality time with each other. Many people travel over the holiday weekend. With so many cars on the road, car accidents are a likely occurrence.

The AAA predicts that 1.6 million Florida residents will travel more than 50 miles this upcoming holiday weekend, that’s a 2.6 percent increase from last year. About 87 percent of those travelers will get to their destinations by car.

Sadly, a relaxing weekend trip can turn to tragedy if drivers are not safe. People who drive distracted, under the influence of alcohol or drugs and those who disregard traffic laws show blatant disregard for the safety of other people on the road.

car accident can cause minor injuries like broken bones, cuts and bruises. However, car accidents frequently cause severe injuries. People may be left with head trauma, spinal cord injuries and more.

In addition to the physical and emotional scars, people may also be left with hefty medical bills. If they are unable to work because of their injuries, they may face even more financial hardships.

Fortunately, accident victims have legal recourse. They may be able to file a personal injury claim. The compensation they are awarded can alleviate any financial burdens. It may also provide victims with a sense of justice. After all, negligent drivers who cause harm to others should be held responsible.

Residents of Boca Raton who find themselves injured as the result of the recklessness of another driver would likely benefit from consulting with an experienced personal injury attorney.
